MEMBERS OF MANAGEMENT OF OKOPOLY IN THEIR BID TO REMOVE CBT HAVE FORGOTTEN ITS BENEFITS.

The management of Federal Polytechnic Oko in Aguata Local Government area of Anambra state have frowned at the use of Computer Based Test as a means of accessing students academically.
The use of the Computer Based Test which was implemented by the institutions ex Rector Dr. Onu Godswill is believed to give students in the institution the belief that they(the students) are in charge of at least 70% of their marks. Computers even though not perfect are built on technology which can fail or develop fault at strategic periods and could result to many issues of student failure or omission of students CA(continuous accessment) thereby resulting to such individual re-writing that particular examination but such can be managed. Therefore since students are already used to writing with computers it is unfair for anyone to resume office and declare such practice none and void with reasons that it makes students and lecturers lazy.
The invention of CBT have helped in curtailing the issues of missing script after examination and as well embibe in each student the culture of reading because they cannot ascertain from what angle or part of a particular textbook the lecturer in- charge might pick his or her question from hence they tend to review every information in the course textbook.
Management should look for ways to curtail exam malpractices by ensuring that each lecturer does his or her work honestly and faithfully by lecturing students instead of trying to implement or change a policy which both students and lecturers are used to simply because the inventor is no more in office thereby affecting both students and lecturers alike academically.

"Students of Okopoly agitates about bad road"

The students' of Federal Polytechnic Oko, living around and in Tipper road area of the institution are crying out to landlords and landladies to work on the roads which lead to the institution of higher learning from their lodges.

The students complained of how tipper truck drivers destroyed the road which they take to school and nothing is been done about it by the Oko indigenes.

In this season of raining, the roads have become so bad to a fault resulting to students taking bush path to outcut the bad road and get to school but these bush routes the students explained are very dangerous therefore, they plead on the community of Oko as a whole to do something about the roads in order to make their stay in Oko land a comfortable one while they go about their studies with gladness.
